The idea of The Moon came about when a Canadian couple, who had lived in Ajijic for several years, decided to bring their parents, who were in their eighties to Mexico. They wanted to offer their parents a better climate, better care and better medical attention.
Failing to find what they considered to be the “right” facility they decided to build one. Quality of construction, cleanliness, maintenance, superior food and the right mix of people were quickly identified as being critical to the equation.
In conjunction with architect Gene Fortune they put together the plans and the vision began to take shape.
Over the two years of planning and building the project has come together and the pride of ownership shows in every aspect of the property.
With Kevin Paulini as General Manager and Alex Del Rio Diaz as foodservice manager, the owners have placed the business in good hands, although they keep their fingers on the pulse of the operation.
