There is a large population of foreigners who have chosen to retire in this area. They say that they come for the weather but stay because of the people. The fact that you don’t have to speak Spanish is a bonus but if you wish to learn there are plenty of schools in town that are happy to help.
Enjoying an upscale lifestyle here is far less expensive than in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Europe. Eating out is extremely reasonable and there are plenty of restaurants that cater to retirees. It’s not all just burritos and tacos although the street food can be great too.
The Mexican health care system is excellent and affordable. Good doctors are plentiful and they take a different approach to their patients than most of those north of the border.
